ABU DHABI, April 11, 2026 – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, received Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of the Republic of India, on Saturday to address critical regional security developments and the aftermath of recent Iranian missile attacks.

The high-level discussions centered on the “unprovoked and terrorist” missile strikes launched by Iran against the UAE and several neighboring nations. The two top diplomats analyzed the serious implications of these aggressions on regional and international security, noting their disruptive impact on global navigation, energy supplies, and the stability of the world economy.
Dr. Jaishankar reaffirmed India’s full solidarity with the UAE, supporting all measures taken by the Emirates to protect its sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the safety of its citizens and residents. Sheikh Abdullah expressed his appreciation for the visit, stating that it reflects the profound depth of the strategic partnership between the two nations. He further reassured the public of the safety of all residents and visitors within the UAE.
A key focus of the meeting was the review of regional updates following the announcement by U.S. President Donald Trump regarding a two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran. Both ministers emphasized the necessity of robust international cooperation to transition this temporary pause into a framework for sustainable peace and security in the region.
Beyond immediate security concerns, the ministers explored ways to strengthen the bilateral strategic relationship to serve the mutual interests of both countries. The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State.
