Dubai: The grand finale of the third edition of the Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal Memorial Holy Quran Award Quran Recitation Competition will be held at the Dubai Sunni Centre Auditorium tonight at 9:00 p.m. Finalists who advanced through multiple qualifying rounds will compete for top honours.
Organisers said the competition aims to promote dedicated learners of the Holy Quran and spread its universal message globally. The event has gained recognition for encouraging excellence in Quran recitation at an international level.
The first prize winner will receive 66,666 rupees, while the second and third prize winners will be awarded 44,444 rupees and 33,333 rupees respectively. Participants securing positions from fourth to twelfth place will each receive 11,111 rupees. All winners will also be presented with certificates and mementos along with the cash prizes.
The event is part of the fifth commemoration conference of Sayyid Hamid Koyamma Thangal, the late president of Dubai Sunni Centre and spiritual leader of expatriate Malayali Muslims in the UAE. The Dubai Sunni Centre, licensed by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) Dubai, has served as a key religious and cultural institution for over three decades, catering to the needs of the Malayali Muslim expatriate community. A large audience is expected to attend the grand finale.
