Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has officially announced the release date of his much-awaited film King with a striking announcement video that has taken social media by storm. The film is set to hit cinemas worldwide on December 24, 2026, promising a high-octane cinematic experience this Christmas.
Sharing the announcement on social media, Shah Rukh Khan revealed intense visuals from the film, beginning with the bold word “ROAR” set against a dramatic backdrop. Another frame carries the powerful line, “This Christmas, fear wears the crown,” hinting at the film’s grand scale and dark, commanding narrative.
In the video, the actor appears in a fierce avatar, sporting a rugged look in a torn white shirt, his face smeared with blood, exuding dominance and intensity. Captioning the post, Shah Rukh wrote, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas. #ItsKingTime #KingDateAnnouncement.”
The film’s title was first unveiled on Shah Rukh Khan’s 60th birthday last year, when the makers released a gripping title video featuring bird’s-eye views of an island facility. The teaser was accompanied by a powerful voice-over suggesting the actor’s role as a ruthless mercenary.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, King also stars Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project.
