The nominations for the 98th Academy Awards were announced on January 22, 2026, by actors Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman, marking a historic year for the Oscars. Filmmaker Ryan Coogler’s Sinners emerged as the most-nominated film of all time with 16 nominations, surpassing the long-standing record held by Titanic, La La Land, and All About Eve, which each earned 14 nominations. This year also introduced a new category, Best Casting, expanding the Academy’s recognition of creative contributions to filmmaking.
Out of 201 films eligible for Best Picture consideration, 10 titles made the final cut. The 2026 Academy Awards will be hosted by Conan O’Brien and broadcast live on Sunday, March 15, airing on ABC and streaming on Hulu, continuing the Oscars’ tradition of celebrating cinematic excellence across performances, direction, storytelling, and technical achievement.
