Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled a wide-ranging programme of community initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan under the theme “Family is Where We Belong.”
The initiatives aim to strengthen social solidarity, promote generosity, and spread happiness among various segments of society, particularly underprivileged families, orphans, workers, metro users, bus drivers, taxi drivers and delivery riders across the emirate.
In collaboration with government and private sector partners including Keolis MHI, DAMAC Properties, Noon, Beit Al Khair Society, Al Ahliah Charity Schools and Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring, RTA will implement several humanitarian programmes throughout Ramadan.
One of the flagship initiatives, “Meals on Wheels,” will see the preparation and distribution of 8,000 meals at RTA headquarters and Quranic Park, with employees and volunteers participating in meal preparation and distribution.
RTA will also organise Iftar meal distribution at Metro stations in partnership with Keolis MHI, DAMAC Properties and Noon, targeting heavy vehicle drivers, bus and taxi drivers, and workers.
Marking Zayed Humanitarian Day, RTA will roll out the “Ramadan Rations” initiative, distributing 500 nol cards to underprivileged families. Some cards will be delivered directly to beneficiaries, while others will be distributed through a cooperative society in coordination with Beit Al Khair Society.
To enhance the festive atmosphere, RTA will display the “Ramadan in Dubai” logo on Variable Message Signs and organise a decorated abra parade as part of the “Season of Wulfa.”
Additionally, the “Thank You, RTA Heroes” social media campaign will invite the public to share appreciation messages for frontline staff. Selected participants will receive nol cards and shopping vouchers.
RTA will also implement the “Eid Joy” initiative in collaboration with Dar Al Hay Gents Tailoring and Al Ahliah Charity Schools, providing Eid essentials and Eidiya to students.
These initiatives underline RTA’s commitment to social responsibility and community happiness in Dubai.
