In a humanitarian gesture marking the holy month of Ramadan, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the release of 1,856 prisoners of various nationalities from Dubai’s correctional and punitive institutions.
The pardon reflects Sheikh Mohammed’s commitment to offering inmates a second chance and bringing joy to their families during Ramadan. The initiative aims to help the released prisoners begin a new chapter in their lives and reintegrate positively into society.
Essam Issa Al-Humaidan, Attorney General of Dubai, stated that the decision highlights the leadership’s compassionate approach and dedication to social stability and family unity.
He further confirmed that Dubai Public Prosecution, in coordination with Dubai Police, has initiated the necessary legal procedures to implement the order promptly.
