His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, arrived in New Delhi on a working visit and was warmly received by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Palam Air Base.
Prime Minister Modi personally welcomed the UAE President and highlighted the significance of the visit in strengthening bilateral ties. In a message shared on X, Modi said the visit reflects Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s commitment to deepening the strong friendship between India and the UAE, adding that he looked forward to discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation across key sectors.
Following the ceremonial red-carpet welcome, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed witnessed a cultural programme showcasing traditional Indian dance performances accompanied by indigenous musical instruments, reflecting the cultural warmth extended to the visiting leader.
The visit is expected to focus on advancing strategic, economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations. India and the UAE share a comprehensive strategic partnership, with growing collaboration across trade, energy, technology, defence and people-to-people ties.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed’s visit builds on the momentum generated by recent high-level exchanges, including the visit of Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to India in September 2024 and the visit of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, in April last year.
India and the UAE continue to strengthen their partnership through frequent leadership engagements, reinforcing their shared vision for regional stability, economic growth and cultural exchange.
