Dubai Police have issued a public warning against the growing number of remote work and part-time job scams, urging residents to remain vigilant as fraudsters exploit people seeking additional income.
According to authorities, scammers are using social media platforms and messaging applications to circulate fake job offers that promise quick earnings for simple online tasks. These deceptive offers often lure victims by appearing easy, flexible, and legitimate, leading many to fall prey to financial fraud.
Dubai Police explained that victims are frequently asked to pay registration or account activation fees, transfer money, or share personal and banking details. In some cases, fraudsters misuse victims’ bank accounts without their knowledge for suspicious or illegal activities, potentially exposing them to serious legal consequences.
As part of the #BewareOfFraud campaign, Dubai Police emphasized that legitimate employers never charge recruitment fees and advised the public to thoroughly verify the authenticity of any remote job offer before engaging.
Residents are advised to avoid sharing personal or banking information with unverified parties, never transfer money in exchange for employment, and deal only with officially recognized and trusted organizations.
Dubai Police urged the public to report any suspected fraud immediately through the e-crime platform or by calling 901 for non-emergency cases. Authorities reiterated that digital awareness and caution remain the first line of defense against online fraud, highlighting the importance of community cooperation in maintaining public safety.
