Dubai Police have cautioned residents and job seekers to be alert to fraudulent work visa offers, highlighting a rise in scams targeting individuals seeking employment in the UAE. The warning comes from the Anti-Fraud Centre of the Criminal Investigation Department as part of the #BewareOfFraud public awareness campaign.
Authorities explained that scammers typically attract victims by offering false job sponsorships and “guaranteed” work visas without following legal procedures. Dubai Police emphasised that visas can only be obtained through official government channels or recruitment agencies licensed by UAE authorities.
To help the public stay protected, police advised verifying visa offers through official sources before making any payments, using authorised platforms for processing documents, and exercising caution when dealing with individuals or online groups promising quick or guaranteed visas.
Dubai Police also urged anyone who encounters suspicious offers or becomes a target of fraud to report the matter immediately. Reporting such incidents helps prevent further victims and strengthens community safety.
Fraud and cybercrime reports can be filed via the Dubai Police Smart App, the e-crime digital reporting platform, or by calling 901 for non-emergency inquiries and assistance.
