In a move welcomed by Gulf-based expatriates, Air India Express has introduced a limited-period offer allowing passengers to purchase additional check-in baggage at concessional rates.
The airline is offering five kg and ten kg extra baggage options for passengers travelling from select Gulf countries to India between January 16 and March 10. The scheme is applicable for flights originating from Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
To qualify, tickets must be booked by January 31 through official Air India Express booking channels. The discounted pricing varies by country, with some of the lowest rates available in the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
Currently, Air India Express permits a standard 30 kg check-in baggage allowance on most fare categories, excluding Express Lite. With the new offer, travellers can carry up to 40 kg of check-in baggage, easing travel for those returning home during the festive and holiday season.
The offer is available across multiple fare types, making it accessible to a wide range of passengers.
