KOZHIKODE/DUBAI: Sadiq Kavil’s new novel, ‘Mangaluru’, was released at Kozhikode’s iconic Mittai Theruvu (Sweet Meat Street), the same setting that inspired the legendary S.K. Pottekkatt’s masterpiece Oru Theruvinte Katha.

The Kerala launch was performed by S.K. Pottekkatt’s daughter and writer Sumithra Jayaprakash, who presented the first copy to veteran journalist P.P. Sasindran. Published by Manorama Books, the novel captures the essence and street life of Mangaluru.
Sumithra Jayaprakash recalled her father’s writing process, noting that his characters were always rooted in reality. She remarked that this release bridges two different eras of storytelling on the same historic soil. Senior journalist P.P. Sasindran and poet Murali Mangalath also addressed the gathering, which saw a large turnout of literary enthusiasts.
International Launch by Yusuff Ali The international release of ‘Mangaluru’ took place in Dubai, where M.A. Yusuff Ali, Chairman of Lulu Group, unveiled the book. The event was attended by Lulu Group International Chief Communications Manager V. Nandakumar, Biju Kottarathil, and several prominent media personalities.
